Friends may call White's Funeral Home in Tomah. WILLIAM GAVIN WAUKON, Wis. (Special) William Gavin, 85, died at a local hospital Wednesday. Graveside services were to be held at St Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township Saturday and a Mass of Requiem will be held at St. Mary's Church Monday at 9 a.m.

Mr. Gavin was born on a farm in Hanover Township June 10, 1872, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Gavin. His wife, the former Mary Byrnes, died several years ago.

He is survived by a daughter, Sister M. Eulalia, Whitemore, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joseph and Stephen, Waukon, and Andrew, Monona and three sisters, Mrs. Daniel Curtion, Waukon, and Andrew, Monona and three sisters, Mrs. Daniel Curtion, Waukon, Mrs. Kate Regan, Elma, and Mrs.

Nora Harrison, Chicago. MAURICE H. FOSSUM WAUKON, Iowa (Special)-Maurice H. Fossum, a former resident of Allamakee County, died at St. Paul, where he had lived for the past 30 years.

He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Fossum, pioneer settlers of Allamakee County. He was bom April 20, 1892, and was unmarried. He is survived by a brother, Lyman, Bagley, two aunts, Mrs.

Arthur Gilbertson and Mrs. Alfred Bergh, Waukon; and two uncles, Otto Fossum, Waukon, and Henry Fossum, La Crosse. Eeffel Anger as a director and approval of an employes deferred payment profit sharing plan were highlights of the 23th annual meeting of First Eank Stock Cap. April 17 in Minneapolis. Represented in person or by proxy at the meeting was over 71 per cent of the corporations stock. The profit sharing plan calls for the setting aside in a trust fund each year of a small percentage of the profits of die corporation and its affiliates for the ultimata benefit of employes. Joseph H.

Colman, First Bank Stock Corp. president, stated that it is believed the plan will assist in securing and retaining personnel of high quality and provide strong incentives to make more profits. The Batavian National Bank of La Crosse is affiliated with First Bank Stock Corp. Colman reviewed the corporation's operations for 1956 which reached new highs in deposits, loans and net operating earnings. He stated consolidated net operating earnings for the first three months of 1957 were $2,920,944.

This is equivalent to 84 cents per share on the 3,479,155 shares of stock outstanding on March 31, 1957, and compares with 80 cents per share on the 3,466,044 shares outstanding on March 31, 1956. vS Vj Heffelfinger, president of Van Dusen Harrington, division of F. (Special) The Trempealeau Lumberyard, which has been owned by the Central Lumber Co. of Stillwater, for the past 37 years, has changed hands. The new owners are David Brunkow and his son, Willard. The firm was purchased from Cooper and Graves by the Central Lumber Co. on Jan.

1, 1920. Managers during those 37 years have included S. B. Slaughter, George Wilson, Grant Fahl, Kenneth Beardsley, James Keefe and Joe Hunter, the present manager. The new owners have been operating a saw mill at Trempealeau since 1944 and assumed ownership of the lumberyard April 1.

It will be known as Brunkows Lumberyard and will stock hardware, paint and coal as well as lumber. John Wood, who has been one of Brunkows assistants in the saw mill will manage the retail operations. Hunters plans for the future are indefinite. NORWALK, w7s. (SpeciaD-Mr.

and Mrs. Faye McCracken have sold their grocery store to Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Hyatt. The new owners took possession this week, succeeding the McCrackens, who had been in business for about 15 years.

The Hyatts formerly farmed in the area. MABEL, Minn. (Special) The new Hagen Lumber Co. is located just off Highway 44 at the east edge of Mabel. It was built by Knute Hagen, owner.

One of the largest real estate transactions of its kind in the Midwest, involving the sale of 100 homes in Joliet, 111., for more than one million dollars, has been announced by Romy Hammes, well known Kankakee, 111., businessman who is a native of La Crosse and who started his business career in an auto dealership. Contracts for the homes, part of a 500-home Marycrest community development in Joliet, were sold to a Chicago financial institution for $1,096,979.91, Hammes said. Also included in the Joliet Marycrest area, opened about four years ago, is a huge shop-ping center, now in operation, 8nd a two-story professional building with 100 offices, now nearing completion. Hammes, who still maintains many close ties with La Crosse, developed the first Marycrest housing and shopping center area in Kankakee about 10 years ago. He also operates a Marycrest business and shopping center in South Bend, and has developed a Marycrest project in Las Vegas, Nev.

Walter Dietz, president of the Electrolux America's largest vacuum cleaner manufacturer, has extended an invitation to several local representatives and their wives to bis guests at the annual Electrolux parade of success and sales meetings to be held at New Yorks Waldorf-Astoria Hotel beginning April 28. MRS. JOHN MOSELEY TOMAH, Wis. (Special) Mrs. John (Sarah) Moseley, 96, died April 18 at a Sparta hospital. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 p.m.

at the Warrens Baptist Church with the Rev. Lawrence Janssen officiating. Friends may call at White's Funeral Home Friday evening until noon Monday, when she will lie in state at the Warrens Baptist Church from 1 until the time of service. Sarah Musson Moseley was born at Oconomowoc, Feb. 25, 1861, the daughter of Demara and George Musson.

She grew up in the Kirby neighborhood and lived on a farm south of Warrens. She was married to John D. T. Moseley on Sept. 30, 1383, and seven children were born.

One child preceded her in death, in infancy. Her husband, John, died 41 years ago. The driver's license of Roger Felton, 17, R. 1, Eleva, was revoked for six months when he pleaded guilty to reckless driving and unlawful destruction of public property. The temporary learning permit of Thomas Pride, 17, Osseo, was revoked for 30 days on a charge of driving alone at night on this permit and for reckless driving. Max Pietsch, Winona, pleaded guilty to driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor, driving without a legal license, and leaving the scene of an accident where personal injuries had occurred. He was sentenced to fines of $100 on the first count and $50 each on the other two, plus $6.95 costs.

Cornelius Sobotta, Winona, pleaded guilty to driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor and was sentenced to a $100 fine and $6.95 costs, or 60 days in jail. James R. Conway, La Crosse, failed to appear on a speeding charge. Eighteen traffic arrests made by Officer Maurice Scow April 14 in the Village of Trempealeau were heard by Justice A. C.

Foster at Arcadia this week. Fifteen of the charges were for-speeding, made against Louis Amundson, Arthur Berg, Richard S. Wing, Clair Carrier, Leo P. Schaula, William B. Spears and Dalbert Buckmiller of La Crosse, Del Clawson, B.
