Welch was born and raised in La Crosse and is a 1969 graduate of La Crosse Central High School. La Crosse journalist picked as arts fellow Terry Rindfleisch, La Crosse, a reporter with the La Crosse Tribune, is among 25 journalists from across the country chosen as the first fellows to participate in a new National Endowment of the Arts Journalism Institute in Opera and Classical Music. Joseph Center, Irosse. Bernice was born Sept. 4, Davis 1919, to Thomas and Myrtle (Lee) Ncary. On Aug. 18, 1937, she married Charles Melvin Davis in Waukon, Iowa.

They lived in La Crosse, where she was a homemaker. Bernice loved spending time with her family and friends. Survivors Include her children, Karlene (Duane) Walters of La Crosse, Howard (Janet) Davis of Bangor, Linda (Rodney) Gilmeister of West Salem, Vicki (James) Reynolds, and Lorina (Steve) Cook, all of La Crosse; 14 grandchildren, Kenneth, Tracy, Jeffery, Robert, Scott, Kimberly, Christine, Pamela, Cynthia, Brian, Shawn, Jennifer, Adam and Kasey; 16 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Icel Alton of De Soto, and sister-in-law, Lila Neary of Ferryville, Wis. 9, 2004, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Janesville. 1 le was born in Janesville on July 13, 1973, the son of Richard Kitchen and Jacqueline Nundahl. He graduated from Madison LaFollette High school in 1991 and served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps, including one year in security at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. A Footville resident for the past three years, Jason was currently employed at Oscar Mayer Foods in Madison.

He enjoyed playing the guitar and working on his 1978 Caniaro. 1 Ie is survived by his parents, Richard Kitchen of Madison and Jacqueline Nundahl of Janesville: his paternal grandmother, Ruth Kitchen; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Constance Nundahl, all of Janesville; three aunts, Pamela Louis of Cazenovia, Susan Olmsted and Katherine (Rick) Cole, both of Janesville; an uncle, Michael (Kristy) Nundahl of Beloit, 10 cousins, Julie, Jennifer, Thomas, Joelle, Nicholas, Connie, Zachary, Alyssa, Kristyn and Stephanie; and his best friend, Bill Sheridan of Janesville. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lysle Kitchen. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct.

Donna J. Olson, 62, of rural Mabel died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004, at home. Donna was born Jan. 7, 1942, in Chicago to Henry and Sylvia (Pfaff) Stetzer.

She graduated from Houston High School. On June 3, 1961, she married Kenneth Schroeder. They later divorced. She continued to live in Caledonia and worked at the Crest Motel. On Feb.

28, 1987, she married Paul Olson. They have lived in rural Mabel. She was a member of the Scheie Lutheran Church and WELCA. Donna enjoyed reading, playing the accordion, cats, and visiting with friends and relatives. Donna is survived by her husband, Paul, of Mabel; her parents Henry and Sylvia Stetzer of Hokah, three daughters Deanna (Harley) Welscher of Mabel, Sherry Williams of La Crosse, and Lisa Bulman of Caledonia, two sons, Todd of Burnsville, and Tony (Gwen) of La Crescent, eight grandchildren, Ryan, Carrie, and Christy Welscher, Kevin, Brooke, and Nicholas Bulman, and Cameron and Elliott Schroeder.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, at Scheie Lutheran Church in rural Mabel, with the Rev. Mary Waudby officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, at Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel and one hour prior to services at the church. Charles O. Berger PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis.

Charles O. Berger, 86, of Prairie du Chien died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004, at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 27, 1917 in Punkin, the son of Fred and Viola (Gremore) Berger.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Gabriels Catholic Church, with burial in the Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien, where there will be a rosary at 7:30 p.m.

Benz cars until it closed in December 1964. The dealership had sold Studebaker cars since 1945. When he announced it would close, dealership president Donald Cameron said the main reason was his firm could not get enough Studebakers; production had been moved to Canada. He and his father, Matt Cameron, had owned the dealership. Matt died about three years before the business closed.

La Crosse County needs cows to look at, just as much they need them to produce food, Rischette said. His plans for retirement are still in development. Sntr Tflft gm- tuft Toltne- lav Clara LiT Antony BANGOR, Wis, Clara Lil Antony, 89, of Bangor died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004, at Mulder Health Care Facility, West Salem, Wis. Clara was born March 9, 1915, in Portland, to Louis and Louisa (Kumm) Mashak. On Nov. 14, 1933, she married Raymond J.

Antony at St. Peters Catholic Church, Middle Ridge, Wis. Clara and Ray farmed on the family farm until their retirement in 1980. Clara then worked in the kitchen at the Villa St. Joseph for 13 years, retiring in 1995.

Ray preceded Clara in death on Jan. 12, 1997. Clara was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be sadly missed. Survivors include two daughters, Darlene (David) Hansen of Bangor, and Dixie (Marvin) Niedfeldt of Racine, one son, David (Sherry) Antony of Bangor; one daughter-in-law, Patricia Antony of La Crosse; one son-in-law, Gerald Lusk of St. Joseph Ridge; 11 grandchildren; 19 greatgrandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Irene McKenna of Montgomery, and Helen Swartz of Sparta, Wis; one brother, Ronald (Loretta) Mashak of La Crosse; two sisters-in-law, Maude Mashak of Sparta, and Janice Mashak of Cashton, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Clara was preceded in death by one son, Donald; two daughters, Audrey and Diane; three brothers, Alois, Robert and Jerome Mashak; and two sisters, Della Bahr and Theresa Friet. Mass of Christian Burial will be held today Oct 11, at 7 p.m. from St. Peters Catholic Church at Middle Ridge. Father Francis Abuah-Quansah will officiate.
