TUESDAY, December 7,2010 B3 Myrtle Cornelia (Hooverson) Oliver Myrtle Cornelia (Hooverson) Oliver of La Crosse passed away Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at the Oliver age of 91. She was born in the town of Coon, Vernon County, on Jan.14, 1919, to Casper and Anna (Iverson) Hooverson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. Myrtle attended schools in.

Vernon and La Crosse counties until age 18. She was united in marriage to Clifford Oliver on May 28, 1945, in Redondo Beach, and he preceded her in death March 14, 2004. Myrtle and family engaged in farming in the Chaseburg area from 1947 until 1988 when they sold the farm and retired to La Crosse. Myrtle had 1 also worked as a housekeeper at St. Francis Medical Center from 1966 until 1982.

She enjoyed gardening, flowers, canning, cooking and baking; often sharing recipes with her daughter- inlaws. Myrtle also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great -grandchildren. A special thank you for all the visits and cards from Mabel, Jolene and Letah. Myrtle was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in La Crosse, with a special thanks to Pastor Rimmert for his visits at home and hospital. Myrtle is survived by a daughter, Georgann Carley of Beaumont, three sons, Norman Oliver of Coon Valley, Dennis (Bonnie) Oliver of La Crosse and Thomas (Karen) Oliver of Coon Valley; five grandchildren, Jay (Ann) Carley, Dawn (Matt) Funk, Todd (Joy) Oliver, Tony (Kelly) Oliver and Tim (Bridgette) Oliver; 10 great -grandchildren, one great -great -granddaughter; two sisters, Ada Thorud and Lillian Lounsbrough, both of La Crosse; along with many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Clifford; she was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Cayla Oliver; an infant brother, Harry Irvin Hooverson; a sister, Helen Thorud; and two brothersin-law, Jim Thorud and Herb Lounsbrough. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2718 Ward La Crosse, with Pastor Jonathan Rimmert officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Friends and family may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Schumacher Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse and again at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of services. Myrtle would like to issue a heartfelt thank you to her family for all their care and help that allowed her to stay in her home. She would also like to thank the doctors and staff at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center 6-West and 4-Center Hospice for all the loving care she received.

In lieu of flowers, it is Myrtle's wishes that memorials be given to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Gundersen Lutheran Hospice Program; Gundersen Lutheran Cancer Research (for she was a 55-year cancer survivor) or a charity of choice. He attended Luther College after graduating from Spring Grove High School in the class of 1955. Robert served both in the U.S. Army and in the National Guard Reserves. He began farming with his brother Paul Solum in 1957. On Dec.

20, 1959, Robert married Barbara Bacon of Mabel, Minn. Together, the couple operated a farm located northwest of Spring Grove near Riceford, Minn. Their farm remained a source of love and livelihood for Bob and Barb throughout their 50 years of marriage and for their five children. Robert's son, Jay, continues as owner and operator of Riceford Farms. Robert's career also included owning and oper ating Feeds in Mabel in the late 1960s.

Faith was a cornerstone of Robert's life. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran of Spring Grove and later was a member at Our Saviour's Lutheran of Riceford, and finally at Faith Lutheran of Blackhammer, Minn. In the last several years, Robert enjoyed the fellowship of friends at the men's Bible study Wednesday mornings at the Redwood. Robert also believed in the importance of education and was a member of the Spring Grove School Board. The Houston County Farm Bureau was also near and dear to Grove on Feb.

9, 1937, and was a lifelong resident of the Partnership. He loved history and particularly enjoyed studying and gleaning stories and information about the history and genealogies of residents in the Spring Grove area. He shared this knowledge during Syttende Mai bus tours. Robert passed away Sunday morning, Dec. 5, 2010, at St.

Marys Hospital in Rochester, at the age of 73. His family thanks the community, family and friends for the support given to them dur- ing his recovery from his 'AVM in 2003, as well as his more recent struggle with ALS. Robert is survived by his wife, Barbara of Spring Grove; five children, Tara and Bruce Johnson of Spring Grove, Tracie and Brian Henkel of Northfield, Tami Solum of La Crosse, Jeni and Steve Harmon of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and Jay and Jessica (Halverson) Solum of Spring Grove; 13 grandchildren; and brothers, Paul, Dale and George of Spring Grove, John of Genoa, Karl of Combine, Texas, and David of Ovando, Mont. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and three grandchildren. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m.

Wednesday, Dec. 8, at Spring Grove Cemetery with a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove with Pastor Leonard Liptack officiating. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6:30 today, Dec. 7, at Roble Funeral Home in Spring Grove.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 210 W. Hamlin West Salem.

Father Bob Hegenbarth will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery at St. Joseph Ridge. Friends may call at Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, (Jostad Chapel), 121 N.

Online condolences. may be offered at Joanne Elizabeth Graves Elizabeth Graves JOSEP PH RIDGE Jerome G. Servais, 81, of West Salem and formerly of St. Joseph Ridge passed WEST Servais away Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at Lakeview Health Center in West Salem.

He was born Sept. 30, 1929, on St. Joseph Ridge to Roy and Marie (Wuensch) Servais. On Oct. 2, 1951, Jerome married Loretta Kaiser at St.

Peter's Catholic Church, Middle Ridge, and they have shared over 59 years of marriage. He farmed on St. Joseph Ridge all his life until moving to West Salem. Jerome had a strong belief, motivation and drive to succeed in dairy promotion. He served on and was the founder of many boards and organizations as well as being instrumental in starting various activities.

He was county president of the Farm Bureau, started the dairy tent at June Dairy Days, was a member of St. Joseph Ridge Lions Club, started the pet barn at the La Crosse County Fair, served on the La Crosse County Land Conservation, Foremost Farms, Wisconsin Milk Marketing and National Dairy Boards, was Wisconsin Master Agriculturalist and was the 2002 June Dairy Days parade marshall. Jerome's passions in life were farming and family and he credits his wife and children for helping him to accomplish all of his achievements. Survivors include his loving wife of almost 60 Joanne Elizabeth one brother, Ken (Cathy) Graves, 55, of La Crosse Graves of La Crosse; her died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, aunt, Sylvia (Chuck) Baker; at St.

Joseph Rehabilitation uncle, Don Stolpman; Center in La Crosse. She was born in St. Marys Hospital, Rochester, Graves Aug 8, 1955, to Graves Everett and Elizabeth (Stolpman) Graves. Joanne attended school and graduated Class of 1973 with honors from Hayfield High School in Hayfield, Minn. She then attended Southwest State University in Marshall, Minn.

She graduated with a degree in hotel and restaurant institutional management in 1977. Joanne was a cheerful, loveable, energetic and friendly lady. In 1981 the family noticed symptoms of an illness and in 1984 Joanne had surgery at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester, for a rare brain tumor that was cancerous. In the following years her health diminished from treatments and radiation for her tumor.

She is survived by her parents, Everett and Elizabeth "Betty" Graves of La Crosse; one sister, Mary Graves Budak of International Falls, nieces and nephews, Mary Jo (Matt) Bell and Bob (Sue and little Abbygail) Graves; and cousins, Susan Baker, Cathy (Mark) Baker Steinke and Christie and Danielle. She is further survived by her halfbrother, Dennis Segar. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and her -in-law, Mike Budak. A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec.

9, at St. Joseph Rehabilitation Chapel, 2902 East Ave. La Crosse, The Rev. Jude Weisenbeck officiating with burial, after her body is cremated to follow in the spring at Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield, Minn. Friends and family may call from 9 a.m.

Bernsdorf, 58, of Hokah died at his home Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010. He was born Nov. 10, 1952, in La Crosse to Wilbur and Bernice (Langen) Bernsdorf and graduated from La Crescent (Minn.) High School. He married Cheryl Storlie in Hokah and they later divorced.

Gary had worked for many years in the family business, Hokah Lumber. Survivors include his two children, Christopher (Hilary) Bernsdorf of Hokah and Karla (Craig) Helke of Caledonia, his mother, Bernice Nelson, 76, of Arcadia died Franciscan Skemp Healthcare Wozney-Killian Funeral Home family with arrangements. Betty Lou attended high school in Swaledale, Iowa, and graduated in 1958. She received her B.S. in elementary education from Arizona State College in Flagstaff, Ariz. On July 21, 1967, Betty Lou married Robert (Bob) Fullwood in Yuma, Ariz. After 13 years of teaching in Virginia Beach, she relocated to Onalaska where she substitute taught until her retirement.

Over the years she enjoyed bowling, Collies, flower gardening, square dancing and traveling. Betty Lou was an active member of Onalaska Club where she held various cabinet positions and also was a lifelong member of United Methodist Church. Betty Lou is survived by her husband of 43 years, Robert two children, Tony (Ami) Fullwood and Daren (Stephanie) Fullwood, both of West Salem; four grandchildren, Christopher and Samantha Oliver Solum Wayne. "Wally" Waldera, 55, of La Crosse died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, in Decorah, Iowa.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Dickinson Family Funeral Home, 809 Gillette La Crosse, Friends may call Fullwood and Scarlet and Charlie Fullwood; one sister, Linda Fessler of Thornton, Iowa; one sister-in-law and brotherin -law, Pat and Jim Shepherd of Sarasota, and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Karen; and an infant brother, Gary. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Onalaska United Methodist Church, 212 Fourth Ave.

Janet Kircher Isler Janet Kircher Isler, 92, of La Crosse died Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at Bethany Riverside Care Center Isler in La Crosse. She was born on Jan. 12, 1918, in La Crosse to Irving and Arena Kircher. Janet attended Washington Grade School where her father was the principal.

She graduated from Central High School in January 1936. She studied at the State Teacher's College in La Crosse and graduated in the summer of 1939 with a bachelor of science degree in education. Janet began her teaching career in September 1939 in Baraboo, Wis. She then moved on to Wauwatosa, where she taught for one year. In the fall of 1942, Janet began teaching in Aurora, where she remained for 25 years.

She left Aurora and taught in Minneapolis for the 1946-47 school year, and then returned to Aurora. Janet was married to Milton Isler on Oct. 24, 1970, in La Crosse. They later divorced. Janet was active in sports and was a bowler on several championship teams in Aurora.

She enjoyed music and sang in the choir at New England Congregational Church in Aurora. She served on various committees and on the Board of Membership at First Congregational Church in La Crosse. Janet is survived by a niece and a nephew and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marianne Fanto. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m.

Wednesday, Dec. 8, at First Congregational Church in La Crosse. The Rev. Bill Hoglund will officiate. A brief graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watertown, Wis.
